I have a silly love for Vada’s red mickey mouse pajamas, and this funky dragon hat that matches. Sort of.
Oh well, it’s not a fashion show, just a pre-garage-sale-day walk with Suzette (and baby Zakary) and Kate. Vada tolerates the bjorn, but I wouldn’t say she loves it.

At Vada’s 4 month checkup, she was 75% for head circumference, 50% for height, and 5% for weight. Little pipsqueak! Yes, we know it’s nothing to be concerned about. But still, we’re going to put her on a bulk-me-up program and see if we can get her to jump up a curve for her next checkup.

Mommy had a morning conference call, and wasn’t thinking about the fact that Vada hadn’t pooed for 3 days… She always poops in the afternoon, right? Ha! No such thing as “always” for a baby! She was fussing a bit in her little swing, and I (still on the call) went over to give her a pat. I pulled out the swing’s butterfly toy to give to her, and suddenly poop appeared down the front of her onesie. Huh? I looked down at my hand, holding a poop-covered butterfly. Whoops, gotta run, co-workers! Holy cow, what a mess. Thank goodness baby equipment comes apart to be washed – those designers are way smarter than I was this particular morning!

What we’ve all been waiting for – the ultimate binky replacement: fingers! Or, if she can manage it, her whole fist. Sometimes it’s as if she’s trying to give herself a hickey on her forearm – cracks me up!

Everyone asks how Trudy is doing with the baby. She was completely freaked out the first day or so, and the simultaneous dog whining + baby mewling was enough to drive us crazy. But she mellowed out, and now mostly ignores her. She gives Vada a sniff or a tiny lick on the toes or forehead every once in a while, but that’s about it.
