peas… um, no thanks

Filed under: Uncategorized — evelyn @ 4:43 pm

Vada was completely disinterested in rice cereal, so we forged ahead and tried the old standby – sweet potatoes. She seemed to like that okay, so after a few days, we tried another new one – green peas. She is her mother’s daughter – she wasn’t keen on them at all. Now we’re on to applesauce, and then maybe green beans, and then bananas. Oh, the gastronomical excitement! Chris and I are taking bets on how she takes to bananas – Chris hates them (to put it mildly!), and he’s hoping she will too, just to have company on the banana-hating bench.

red velvet shoes

Vada looks so cute in red, and I just love these red shoes that her auntie Kate gave her. They don’t exactly match the romper, but close enough!

Once again, I did get better shots than this, but I liked her silly expression in this one. It won’t be long before she can get herself out of these awkward positions… And then we’re in trouble…

happy six month birthday!

Filed under: Uncategorized — evelyn @ 4:58 pm

We celebrated Vada’s half birthday with her first taste of rice cereal. What an anticlimactic event that was! :-)

At her 6-month check up, she was 14lbs, 10oz, and was 25″ long.  That’s 25% for weight and 25% for height.  Yay, finally proportional – our bulking up program was a success!  She was also 90% for head circumference – she’s got a big noggin!
