Here we are, about to embark on our very first plane trip with Vada. We were terrified. We’ve all been there – the screaming kids, the smelly diapers – and it’s no fun! I’m glad we set our expectations low, because we were very pleasantly suprised. Vada did just fine! She napped in laps, and only did a minimum of fussing. On the last flight, our row-mate even asked if we flew a lot, because we seemed so relaxed and Vada was so well-behaved. Yay, we did it! I have to give big props to Southwest Airlines – they have open seating and let families with babies on first. We managed to get bulkhead seating for every leg, and it was fantastic to be able to put Vada down on the floor to hang out.

Here’s Vada and her Aunt Jessie, getting up close and personal. I think this was just before Jessie found out just how sharp those little baby teeth can be!

Speaking of baby teeth, here’s another view of the chompers. It’s hard to count them now without getting bit, but there’s at least 5 (three top, two bottom). We’ll get a count when we go for her 9 month checkup on Jan.5. Can it be 9 months already???

Aw, so sweet. Vada with Grandma Lila. Really, is there any better place to be than snuggled up with your grandma on the couch?

Okay, we didn’t get a great shot of Vada in her special holiday outfit (all fluffy! and pink! and embroidered!), but whatever. I just like this one because it makes her look like she just might have a personality somewhere in there.

Santa traveled all the way to Cleveland to bring Vada her first Christmas present – a set of farm animal bath toys, with a matching bath book. Can’t wait to play with those. Or chew on them, whichever.
