I’m off for a work trip to Portland, so vadajo.com won’t be updated for at least a week. In the meantime, here are some more pics to tide you over…
Vada plays the drum…

Practices picking her nose…

Checks out a pygmy goat at the pumpkin patch…

Amazes mommy by actually standing alone for a moment while she takes a photo (she was distracted by another kid playing nearby)…

Poses really sweetly with some pumpkins…

Pops her head through for another photo op…

Vada’s outfit was especially cute today. Love the little sweater vest – so preppy!

I love asking her to do stuff, because she seems so clever when she actually pulls it off. She was loading up the shopping cart with random stuff, and I asked her to put the monkey in, and she did (after a brief monkey hug). Like Chris is fond of saying, she’s finally smarter than the dog.

Later, she tried to recycle her play food. Must remember to look through the bins before dumping them – who knows what she’s thrown in there when we weren’t looking…

Grandpa Will (Chris’ dad) came out for a short visit. I left the photo op for the last minute, and the results were not so good… Next time, more pictures!

Chris Walker was visiting, and we took him by the conveyor belt sushi place for dinner. We somehow always manage to sit in the same booth, which is near a display of porcelain kitties. Every time we go, it takes Vada about half an hour to re-discover them, and then she looks in their direction and says “meow” until we see them too. Yesterday she added pointing, which I don’t remember her doing before (or at least not so forcefully anyway!).

We’ve had a crazy few weeks here. Including, but not limited to:
- My laptop died
- All three of us got sick, *again*
- Vada and I made a trip to Texas
- Vada got double ear infections
- Our water heater blew up
- Vada was up all night with croup
- The power went out (okay, it was only for a few hours, but still!)
Things are calmer now (knock on wood!). Sorry for not giving you your regular Vada fix! I’ll try to catch up ASAP…

At the reunion, the main event is an auction of donated hand-made items to raise money for next year’s reunion (how clever is that?!). Mom and I bought these little pillows for Vada’s crib (made by my Aunt Eileen), and I think she really likes them. On Saturday she took a really awesome nap – it was going on two hours when we (sadly!) had to wake her up so that we could meet our realtor to look at a couple houses. Even the camera flash didn’t wake her up…

Vada loves kitties, but these cats were not keen on her. Oh well, at least she got to say “meow” a lot.

She had fun getting up on the hearth and looking through the magazines. And then pitching them over the edge one by one…

I didn’t take nearly enough pictures at the reunion. I was too darn busy keeping an eye on Vada! I’m hoping to get some from the rest of the family eventually. Here she is playing in the exersaucer that my brother brought for his grandson (ha! my great-nephew!) Hayden. She’s way too big for it, but she had a great time playing with it anyway.

Here we are in Texas, playing at the pool near my dad’s house. Vada’s not so keen on the pool itself, but likes to play with the pool toys and stick her hands in the fountains.
