another crazy fashion moment
Vada has developed a funny habit of taking her shoes and socks off (always the right foot, sometimes both), and her pants. Yesterday she also pulled a little hat out of the hat bin. It made for a pretty silly combo! Then she got up on the hearth and started kissing herself in the “mirror” of the fireplace.

snow day
Just when we thought things would settle back into a routine, we got a snow day…

happy birthday daddy!
I gave Chris a picture of Vada (his favorite) for his office.

Vada helps daddy unwrap his gifts.

And then has a fun time running around with the ribbon on her head like a little crown.

Later there was some tricycling on the back porch.

And some hanging out with Grandma Lila and Grandpa Will. It was so nice to have them visit!!

bed head
Not the most flattering picture of Vada, but what the heck. We had a milestone at breakfast – she peeled her banana all by herself! This really is the “I DO IT!” stage.

Vada had to stay home today, because she was sick at daycare yesterday. Poor poochkins – she has another double ear infection, and is back on antibiotics. They started her on the good stuff this time, so hopefully she’ll be all better soon. She doesn’t look to sick, does she?? She’s still too small for the trike, but she sure liked playing on it…

sorry for the downtime!
We had some computer problems. All better now, and we’ll try to make it up to you with more pictures!

more rummage sale toys
Yay, there was a rummage sale last Saturday! I sure miss weekend garage sales in the winter… The best find was a two-part play kitchen (for $7!). It’s the very simple old-fashioned wooden cabinet kind, one side is the stove (with painted burners) and the other side is a sink. We have it tucked away in the garage, awaiting her 2nd birthday in April. Now I just need to find all the pots, utensils, food, etc.
We also picked up a few toys to try out. First we have this “sit-and-spin” – Vada sat on it correctly right off, but hasn’t quite figured out the spinning yet. It plays some really awful music when you push the buttons on top. I think we might lose those batteries soon…

Then we have this puzzle. She has spent a surprisingly long time playing with it! Reminds me that I need to set out the ones that she got for Christmas (they got packed away during the post-holiday move-in extravaganza).

If you look in the background here, you’ll see a little play tunnel. It’s going to go great with the play hut that she got for Christmas from her Aunt Kathy and Uncle Damian (thanks!).

clever girlie
Vada has known her face parts for quite a while. Having her point them out is one almost sure way to distract her when needed! Here we have nose, eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, tongue. I forgot cheeks and chin!

looking older
These pics make Vada look so much older to me. Maybe it’s the serious expressions, or the lack of binkie? I feel like we’re getting glimpses of the little girl around the corner.

Here she’s playing with the earphones for Chris’ iPhone (a glimpse of the teen years?).

Hard to tell, but she’s hugging Elmo. She’s a big hugger lately! She really likes group hugs with both mommy and daddy – it’s melty cute.
