thursday evening

Vada asked to have her temperature taken (it was fine, of course).

She loves to make the airplane sign, and then make everyone else do it too… She can only do it with her right hand – I wonder if that means she’ll be right-handed?

If the dirty clothes are any indication, she must have had a fun day at daycare today!

saturday in PDX

While Chris was off having fun with his buddies, Vada and I hung out with Suzette and her kids. The orange lips are from a popsicle (Vada says it something like “pocky-ball” – so cute!).

friday in PDX

After a long drive from Seattle to Portland (with a few stops along the way), we dropped Chris off in downtown Portland and then went straight to my friend Chanel’s place for her daughter’s birthday party. Vada was so disheveled by this time! We brought some temporary tattoos to share with the rest of the kids, and they were a big hit.

We’re off for another trip to Portland this weekend. Chris is going to the beer festival with his buds, and Vada and I will be hanging out with the girlfriends. Yay!

chocolate factory!

Filed under: Uncategorized — evelyn @ 5:50 am

Our friends Jon and Esme came up for a visit, and Chris took us all out for a tour of the Theo chocolate company’s factory. Vada had a hard time with the hair net rule, but loved all the samples!!

In the afternoon, we were back to the healthy smoothie popscicles!

summer time

Vada likes it at the Little Gym, when they blow bubbles on the kids’ toes at the end of a session. She’s trying to get the same effect…

Ah, after a nap, reading a book with daddy.

first sticker chart

Filed under: Uncategorized — evelyn @ 5:33 am

Vada was having some trouble staying asleep last week, so we tried a sticker chart for the first time. We weren’t sure if she was old enough to understand, but I think she got it. Or it could just be coincidence. Whatever. She’s sleeping, and we’re sleeping, and it is good. Um, knock on wood…

the “doctor”

Filed under: Uncategorized — evelyn @ 5:33 am

Vada calls this toy her “doctor”. I guess it gets the point across, and it’s a whole lot easier to say than stethoscope. :-)

cuteness overload

Filed under: Uncategorized — evelyn @ 8:12 pm

Vada and Chris have developed a very silly head-rubbing game. I’ll try to upload a video later…

Okay, I’d normally NEVER post pictures of my backside, but these are just too amazingly cute. Just for fun tonight, I popped in a yoga DVD after dinner, and tried to follow along as Vada buzzed around me and got in my way. The sitting down part was mostly a disaster, and included her whacking me square in the eyeball with her fist. Ouch! But I kept going, and the standing poses were much more fun. I was floored that she could follow along, when this is the very first time we’ve tried yoga together. Every day, Vada amazes me with yet another example of how much smarter she is than I think!

“backpack” and new robe

Filed under: Uncategorized — evelyn @ 7:57 pm

Vada rediscovered the “baby in a box” trick a couple days ago, after I dug out this bin to store her many balls in. She loves to pull all the balls out, and walk around the house with it over her head. This morning, she added a new twist – she pulled the straps over her arms and called it her “backpack”!

Here she is after her bath. I found this little robe at a g-sale last weekend, and we used it for the first time. She loved it, because she can be “just like daddy” (who wears his robe around the house in the morning). Loved it so much, she had to sleep with it last night!
