stickers!
best parenting moment so far
I had to run out for an errand while Vada was napping, and she woke up a little early and asked where I was. Chris said I was gone, but would be back soon, and suggested they wait out on the front lawn for me to return. After waiting patiently for a while, Vada fell asleep under the protective wing of her daddy. When I came home and found them like this, I melted. So adorable!
pumpkin prowl
We met up with friends at the Seattle Zoo for their "Pumpkin Prowl". It was so much fun to see all the cool costumes, and to watch Vada figure out what Halloween trick-or-treating is all about! We didn’t get a picture of Vada’s favorite part – a woman walking around on stilts waving bif red fans. She was mesmerized by her "dancing lady".
Here’s our friends Keith and Robin with their son Logan (almost 2). Robin made all the costumes – Logan is a dragon, and they are villagers (Keith is on fire, in case that wasn’t obvious).
Vada was a flower ("spring"), I wore my leaf dress from a couple years ago ("fall") and Chris dressed up as a tourist ("summer").
I loved this spot – there was foggy mist all over the water behind us, with lots of pumpkins, and a giant crocodile, and that big stuffed snake wrapped around the fence. The zoo did a great job with all the decorations, and I look forward to going again next year!

new bookshelves !
Chris and I are so thrilled to finally (after almost a whole year!) have new bookshelves for the "library" (also known as the living room). They look great!
Here’s Vada "helping" Chris install them on Sunday…
And here’s a couple views on the finished product…

at the pumpkin patch
We got to feed the chickens, goats and alpacas. Vada was too shy to do it, but she had fun watching!
She had fun climbing on the hay "tractor" too. We tried to get her to say "I’m king of the world!" when she got to the top of the big tire…
Gotta love all the cutouts for picture taking…
A few more photo ops…
saturday
I love those rare moments when Vada entertains herself. This one really cracked me up, because she looks so much like me and Chris, reading with her feet propped up.
Silly time! Mostly naked and running around the house with fuzzy antennae…
