Vadajo

Vada and I checked out the Strawberry Festival in Bellevue while Chris was stuck at work.  It wasn’t as great as I thought it would be – not much to do with strawberries, and most of the water park was closed for servicing.  But we managed to have some fun with the one water feature that was still working.

We went to the Bridle Trails “Party in the Park” yesterday.  Last year, Vada chickened out when it came time to ride the ponies (after a long wait in line – grrr!).  But this year, she was brave, and she loved it.  This little pony was the smallest of the bunch, and his name was Tinker.

Vada is suddenly making representational pictures.  She is so cute when she brings one over and explains what it is.

This made me laugh so hard – and I had to take a picture!  The mom next to me thought it was pretty funny too…  

We started off with some cards and gifts at home…

Then went to Saint Edward’s State Park.  We started off at the playground…

And then we went across the park to the beer festival (no pictures of that, because I forgot the camera in the car!).  Chris had a great time sampling local beers, while Vada and I had fun with all the kids activities (crafts, games, and a bouncy house!). 

Poor Vada.  She apparently hit one of her front teeth a few weeks ago, and it has slowly turned a sort of grey color.   You can see it just a little bit in this picture – I think this may have been the first day we noticed it.

The dentist said it’s nothing to worry about, we just have to keep an eye out for signs of pain or infection.  There’s a small chance it will fade back to white, but she’s probably stuck with it for a few years until it falls out naturally.   In the grand scheme of things, I know it’s so minor.  But I’m still bummed that her perfect smile is gone.   And I’m happy to report that she did great at the dentist, and her teeth are otherwise just great. 

And, you know, she’s still as cute as ever!

Vada’s daycare did a field trip to the park near our house, and I tagged along to help out.  There were 16 toddlers, and 4 adults.  We were only there a couple hours, but it totally wore me out!
