we survived!
Before the birthday party storm… I made Vada this “4” shirt for her birthday. She looked adorable in it! (No, I did not make the hat!)
The birthday party was a zoo! We had about 24 kids (I think!), and at least that many grownups. Thank goodness it wasn’t rainy, and the kids could play outside. Sadly, I was so busy running around that I didn’t get any pictures. I’m glad Chris remembered to take a few…
Opening presents…
Instead of a cake, we had a “build your own cupcake” line, where the kids could choose the icing color (applied by an adult, of course), and then choose their toppings (sprinkles, m&ms, etc.). It was messy and fun!
And here’s the calm after the storm – coloring with one of her new toys…
I definitely learned my lesson about gifts. She got SO much stuff! From now on, it’s going to be no gifts, or just a book exchange, or a much smaller party, or something.

friday
How to keep Vada happy while I work in my sewing room – give her plenty of pictures to color!
This Friday was pajama day AND show and tell day – bonus!
After school, we met up with my boss from Portland and his family (they were in town visiting some family) at a playground in Marymoor park. That’s Frankie (Francesca) in front. She is such a cutie, and so smart!
And now me and Vada!

gifts in the mail!
Uncle Michael sent Vada a “hazardous duty” gift, to reward her for being so brave when her toe got smashed. What a treat!
Her favorite was the puppy bag – she even took it for show and tell the next day!
Grandma Jo sent a little goody package on the same day , so Vada was really spoiled. She loved all the little treats! Luckily it was bath night, because she got to use the bath fizzies right away.
Red and yellow make orange!
Thanks again, Uncle Michael and Grandma Jo! Oh, and speaking of the toe, I’m happy to report that her toenail fell off last week, with no problem. Vada just came downstairs holding it in her hand one morning, and that was that. Her new toenail is growing in, and everything looks peachy. Yay!

saturday night
Chris and I went out to dinner, while Vada had fun at The Nest. She loves the dress-up clothes there…
On the way home, she was singing us “songs”. I was so happy I had the camera to record the moment.

pockets
Vada was all about pockets this morning – using hers, posing with her hands in them, pointing out that Chris and I had them too… Pockets, pockets, pockets!
st. patrick’s day outfit
It doesn’t really go together, but it’s all green! Oh, and a rainbow for the leprechaun and his pot of gold.
