What are they doing??
Oh, they’re spying on stuff!
They didn’t plan it, but their outfits sort of matched…
In the evening, there was relaxing in the hammock…
We hosted a potluck for the families at Vada’s daycare. Not too many people came, but that was just fine – there were still plenty of kids for Vada to play with!
I took Vada out to the Country Village to feed the ducks and roosters, and we walked around to a new spot we hadn’t seen before, and found this old merry-go-round. I wish it had a motor – it was so heavy I could only spin it around a few times (slowly!) before I was winded!
Vada walked around to each horse and whispered something in their ears…
Quynh has a P-patch, and invited Vada and I to come pick raspberries. They were yummy! Makes me want to start a garden!
My friend Quynh (pronounced Quinn) had a big birthday bash a few weeks ago.
There were a couple other little girls about Vada’s age, and she had a good time playing with them. But she REALLY had an awesome time playing with an older boy named Winter. He was so sweet to the girls – pushing them on the swings, playing frisbee and tag with them, and just generally not being annoyed when they followed him around like little puppy dogs.
He even plays guitar! Can’t you just see the adoration in her eyes?
Vada cried when we left. On the way home, she said she wished Winter could come home with us, and be her brother. So sweet!
Vada and I have been going to the Kirkland pool for their Friday “family fun” nights. It’s an outdoor pool, but the water is pretty warm and we’ve had some relatively balmy evenings in the last month or so. It has a great shallow wading pool for the young kids – Vada loves being able to walk around, and I love not having her hanging on me the whole time!
On Sunday, we finally made it over to check out a famous Seattle landmark – Gasworks Park. I can’t believe it was our first time there! We met up with our friends Chris and Julie for a picnic, and it was awesome!
One end of the park has a huge hill that overlooks the water. The view was amazing! It has some strong wind up there, and there were lots of people up there flying kites. Vada was fascinated!
Vada and I did something silly and adventurous on Saturday! Let’s see if you can guess from these pictures…
Need another hint? Chris was not allowed to participate. Well, he could have tagged along, but he would have had to sit in the bleachers! Did you figure it out? Click here to read all the details.
Redheads unite!!
More fun with Jeannie! Vada was so sad to see her leave. On the way to school that morning, she said “When I grow up, I’m going to have a girlfriend, and it’s going to be Jeannie!”. Sweet!
